Head in the Clouds Jane
Here’s an excerpt of the story I wrote for Creative Writing, Fiction:
“…Jane had always been a runner. Rarely stationery, she would hop from class to class, imagining the linoleum hallways were empty pastures. She was in a constant state of escape and earned the nickname Head in the Clouds Jane during high school.
Maturity was less welcoming. Jane’s belief that college would...

New Customized Theme!
I took the Knight theme (link at bottom of page) on Tumblr Themes and customized it to make it more Schwaste Baskety. I played around with it for only a few minutes. What do you think of it?
Fatal
Trapped, tied, and careless, we as ferocious beings plead.

Trailhead
I read a short story in the New Yorker last night. It was about ants, and it was called “Trailhead.” And it was fantastic. It was a prose expose on the vulnerability and efficiency of the ant microcosm. It highlighted the ultimate power of the female ant and how, without her, the thousands of ants created to defend and continue her queendom were worthless. It downplayed the males,...

Back To School Tomorrow
I kind of forgot what college is like. I can’t wait to be back and experience it all over again.
A Few Edits
You know, nothing big. Just played around with some HTML to make this theme more SchwasteBaskety. Anyway, this is just setting the stage for the ultralayout! Wohoo. (The more hype the better, in my mind, even if it falls through.)
Whoa, Shiny
It’s time I delved into the HTML FAQ’s and design myself a Tumblr layout. All the more reason for you guys to pay close, close attention to The Schwaste Basket ;-). Hopefully, I’ll make some progress on it before break’s over.
Julie & Julia
Yeah, I know, I know. Chick flick. Whatever, my mom made me watch it with her. And it was really long and girly. But, Julie’s blog was kind of… inspirational. It would be cool to have an idea and pursue it such a way one assumes mystery followers and, ultimately, publishing. Cha-ching!

Down By the Bay
Two ideas which will (hopefully) soon be expanded upon.
1. He’s late; he’s always late. His clients grow tired of waiting an extra twenty minutes on a street corner for just an eighth.
2. He’s thrifty, and everyone knows that, but he crosses the line when he refuses to paint the walls in the home he’s selling in fear of losing square footage.

Birthdays
Birthdays are weird. It’s odd to think that, all of a sudden, you’re one year older. Rather, I feel like each day we should celebrate us being one more day older (which is remarkably more accurate). When we’re 183 days older, we can celebrate being more than halfway closer to 1 year, and finally we can celebrate the 1 year mark. This would solidify the concepts of birthdays by...

Going Elsewhere
Tomorrow, I’m flying to my mom’s. It’s going to be sad to leave all of my friends from high school; I feel like we’ve finally snapped back into place and now we’re going to disrupt everything all over again. But, then again, I’m kind of excited. I get to see my dog, work on my porfolio, and get psyched about school. Here—even though this permanent blizzard...
Stranger Than Fiction
is such a good movie. We watched it tonight. It’s a great story like that which makes me want to write a great book someday.
"A Different Animal,"
he had called him, as if we as men devolve into carnal creatures. As if we err and are not the same, and that makes us inhumane and unnatural. And that is the nature of the beast: we are savage and unchanging unless we turn ourselves into worse monsters.
I Can't Help It
It’s a shame you read this because I just wrote a wonderful post about you. Oh well.
